Fiery-hot Ghia Chutney

    Ingredients
    • 1 medium ghia (bottle gourd/lauki)
    • 15 Thai chilies (small green chilies)
    • 6 garlic cloves
    • 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
    • 1 teaspoon cumin
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • salt to taste

    Method
    • Wash, peel and dice ghia . In a pan heat oil, add cumin and bottle gourd. For a hot chutney add 15 thai chilies. Let cook till the mixture wilts. Turn off heat, let it come to room temperature. Grind in blender along with garlic, tamarind past and salt.
    • The chutney can be served with roti, parantha, idli and dosa.
    Tips
    • The chutney will taste better if the bottle gourd is fresh.
    • You can change the amount of green chilies according to taste. You get a fiery-hot chilli taste with this recipe.
    • In your home if adults want hot chutney and kids gets prefer milder taste, you can mix some yogurt (curd) into their chutney.
